Contraindications

Autoimmune diseases. Asteraceae family allergy. Progressive systemic diseases (MS, lupus, TB).

Interactions

May interact with immunosuppressants, caffeine, and medications metabolized by CYP enzymes.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated. Allergic reactions (especially with Asteraceae allergy), GI upset, dizziness.

Liver: Rare hepatotoxicity reported — avoid combining with other hepatotoxic drugs.
Allergy: Asteraceae/Compositae family allergy (ragweed, daisies). Higher allergy risk than many herbs.
