Contraindications

Side Effects

Caffeine-related: insomnia, anxiety, irritability, GI upset, headache. Concentrated extracts: rare liver injury.

Liver: Concentrated green tea extracts (EGCG supplements) have rare but documented hepatotoxicity. Tea beverage form is safe.
Kidney: High oxalate content in some preparations.
