Nose raw, obstructed, with acrid discharge that excoriates the upper lip. Voice uncertain, breaks when speaking or singing. Scarlet fever with extreme rawness of nose and lips. Boring the nose into pillow. Corners of mouth cracked.

Jack-in-the-pulpit contains calcium oxalate raphides causing intense burning, swelling of mouth and throat. Do not eat raw. Safe in potentised forms.
