Glandular induration — hard, dark, painful swollen glands with tendency to malignancy. Venous stasis — everything sluggish, congested, dark. Copper-colored spots on skin. Hemorrhages of dark decomposed blood. Burning pains. Desire to be alone. Hearing better in noise. Weakness of elderly.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Desire to be alone. Aversion to company. Homesick. Sad, reflective. Night anxiety. Hears better when there is noise (paracusis).
General Symptoms
Glandular hardening and venous stasis. Worse from cold air, after eating, menses, shaving, dampness. Better from warmth, wrapping up, loose clothing.

Head

Comparative Materia Medica
Carbo vegetabilis has more collapse and desire for air; Carbo animalis has more glandular hardening. Conium has glandular induration but with ascending paralysis. Calcarea fluorica has stony-hard glands.
