Keynote Symptoms
Violent cramps and spasms, especially of extremities — calves, fingers, toes. Convulsions beginning in fingers and toes, spreading centrally. Spasmodic conditions — cough, asthma, whooping cough, cholera. Cyanosis with the spasms. Metallic taste. Suppression of eruptions or discharges leading to convulsions.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Fixed ideas. Malicious, morose. Fear of strangers and society. Full of plans during delirium. Attacks of uncontrollable rage.
General Symptoms
Spasms and cramps are the keynote. Worse at night, from touch, hot weather, vomiting, suppressions. Better from cold drinks, pressure, perspiration.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Bruised pain. Meningitis. Head drawn to one side. Empty feeling.
Face
Distorted, bluish. Cyanotic during spasms. Trismus.
Mouth
Strong metallic, coppery taste. Constant protrusion and retraction of tongue like a snake.
Stomach
Hiccough preceding spasms. Nausea, violent retching. Vomiting relieved by drinking cold water. Pressure in stomach.
Abdomen
Colic violent, pressing, squeezing. Intussusception. Cholera with cramps.
Rectum
Cholera: profuse watery stool with cramps. Black, painful, bloody.
Respiratory
Suffocating, spasmodic cough, face cyanotic. Whooping cough — long-continued spasmodic cough followed by gasping. Better from cold water.
Chest
Constriction, tightness. Dyspnoea. Angina with spasms.
Extremities
Violent cramps in calves, soles, palms, fingers, toes. Clenching of thumbs. Convulsions start in fingers and toes. Cramping of legs at night.

Comparative Materia Medica
Magnesia phosphorica has cramps better from warmth and pressure. Veratrum album has cholera with coldness and collapse but less spasmodic. Nux vomica has cramps but with more irritability and GI symptoms.

Belladonna, China, Dulcamara, Hepar sulph, Ipecac, Mercurius, Nux vomica.
Copper salts in crude form cause GI irritation, liver damage, and hemolytic crisis. Chronic exposure causes copper toxicity. Use only potentised forms.
