Keynote Symptoms
Periodic sick headache with intense nausea and vomiting of sour, stringy, ropy mucus. Burning of entire alimentary canal — mouth, throat, stomach, intestines. Profuse ropy salivation. Headache begins with a blur before eyes. Weekly or weekend headaches. Pancreatic involvement.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Depressed, low-spirited during headache. Fear of approaching illness. Mental exhaustion.
General Symptoms
Burning of entire digestive tract. Periodical complaints, especially headaches. Worse from evening, night, rest, hot weather, after midnight. Better from continued gentle motion, open air.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Periodic sick headache — begins with blur before eyes, then frontal or right temporal headache with intense nausea and vomiting. Weekend headaches. Weekly periodicity. Scalp feels tight.
Eyes
Blur before eyes before headache. Burning.
Mouth
Profuse ropy salivation. Burning of tongue, palate, throat. Taste sour, bitter.
Stomach
Violent burning in stomach. Nausea, vomiting of sour, bitter, stringy mucus. Vomiting of ropy threads of mucus. Pyrosis. Pancreatic disorders.
Abdomen
Burning in intestines. Colicky pains. Flatulence. Pancreatic region tender.
Rectum
Burning diarrhea — watery, with burning anus. Stools burn like fire. Anus feels raw.

Comparative Materia Medica
Sanguinaria has right-sided periodic headache but less GI burning and more flushing. Kali bichromicum also has ropy/stringy discharges but more sinus involvement. Arsenicum album has burning digestive tract but with more restlessness and thirst for sips.

Nux vomica.
Fresh root is an irritant causing severe nausea, vomiting, and purging. Non-fatal. Use potentised forms for internal use.
