Keynote Symptoms
Pains shoot downward — the great keynote (opposite of Ledum which shoots upward). Right-sided. Neuralgic pains shift rapidly and change location. Rheumatism and heart symptoms alternate — when one improves, the other worsens. Slow pulse. Numbness and tingling accompany pains.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Anxious during heart symptoms. Confusion. Gloom. Dullness. Difficulty concentrating.
General Symptoms
Pains shoot downward. Right-sided. Rheumatism and heart alternate. Worse from motion, leaning forward, open air, cold, looking down. Better from lying down, rest, eating, continued motion after initial aggravation.

Ledum has pains that ascend (opposite direction). Spigelia has heart pains but left-sided and stitching. Rhus tox has rheumatism but better from continued motion. Cactus has band-like heart constriction.

Mountain laurel is highly toxic — contains andromedotoxin (grayanotoxin) causing vomiting, convulsions, cardiac depression, and death. Honey from Kalmia flowers ("mad honey") is poisonous. Use only potentised forms.
