Keynote Symptoms
Puncture wounds, insect stings, bites. Parts cold to touch yet better from cold applications — wants ice on the wound. Rheumatism beginning in lower limbs and ascending. Joint swelling, pale, oedematous. Black eye — ecchymosis. Throbbing pain in affected part. Lack of vital heat yet averse to warmth.

Dissatisfied, morose. Desire to be alone. Impatient. Angry, cross.

Rheumatism begins in feet, ascends. Joints swollen, hot but pale. Ball of great toe swollen, painful (gout). Ankles swollen. Soles tender. Cracking in joints.

Hypericum also treats puncture wounds but has shooting nerve pains. Arnica treats bruising but is worse from touch and not specifically better from cold. Apis has insect stings but has more swelling, redness, and is thirstless.
