Keynote Symptoms

Extreme nausea that is NOT relieved by vomiting — the keynote. Profuse salivation with nausea. Asthma with nausea and vomiting, worse from exertion. Sensation of lump or weight in pit of stomach. Gastric symptoms accompany nearly all complaints. Dyspnoea from constriction in mid-chest. Faintness and weakness with nausea.

Mind & Emotional Symptoms

Anxiety in pit of stomach. Fear of death from the nausea. Depressed. Sensitive to tobacco smoke.

General Symptoms

Nausea accompanies almost every complaint. Worse from tobacco, slightest motion, cold, afternoon. Better from warmth, rapid walking, eating a little, evening. Profuse salivation.

Physical Symptoms

Head

Headache with nausea. Vertigo. Gastric headache.

Mouth

Profuse salivation with nausea. Acrid taste. Burning in throat.

Stomach

Extreme nausea not relieved by vomiting. Faint, sinking, gone feeling in pit of stomach. Heartburn. Profuse salivation. Vomiting with prostration and cold sweat. Acidity.

Respiratory

Asthma — oppressive dyspnoea with nausea. Constriction of chest. Sensation as if chest would not expand. Spasmodic asthma. Cough with vomiting. Worse from exertion, tobacco smoke.

Chest

Oppression in mid-chest. Constriction. Prickling sensation all over chest.

Back

Pain in sacrum. Cannot bear tightest touch over lower dorsal and lumbar spine.

Ipecacuanha also has persistent nausea but with a clean tongue and more dyspnoea; Lobelia's nausea is more prostrating and gastric. Tabacum has nausea with cold sweat and deadly pallor. Antimonium tartaricum has nausea with rattling chest.
