Keynote Symptoms
Sharp, shooting, lancinating pains in small, defined spots. Pains followed by numbness. Ailments from thinking about complaints — symptoms worse when attention is directed to them. Oxaluria. Left-sided pains — heart and left arm numbness. Pains alternate between stomach and extremities.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Thinking about symptoms makes them worse — the keynote mental symptom. Anxious, excited. Brain fagged. Cannot think.
General Symptoms
Sharp pains in small spots. Numbness after pain. Worse from thinking of complaints, sour food, sugar, left side, motion, shaving. Better from change of position, after stool.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Headache from straining eyes. Worse thinking about it.
Stomach
Violent burning in stomach, extending to throat. Sour eructations, sour vomiting. Aggravation from sugar, coffee. Nausea worse from thinking about it.
Urinary
Oxaluria — oxalic acid crystals in urine. Renal colic, left side. Frequent urination. Burning in urethra.
Chest
Sharp pains in left chest and heart region. Angina with numbness of left arm. Dyspnoea, sharp stitching.
Back
Sharp pain in lower dorsal region. Numbness. Myelitis.
Extremities
Numbness of left arm with heart pains. Sharp pains in small spots. Numbness follows pain. Weakness.

Constitutional Type
Not strongly constitutional. Used for sharp pains with numbness, oxaluria, and heart symptoms with left arm involvement.
Clinical Indications
Angina with left arm numbness, renal colic, oxaluria, sharp pains in small spots, somatization disorder (worse from thinking), myelitis
Comparative Materia Medica
Kalmia also has heart pains shooting to left arm but going downward. Spigelia has left heart pains but more violent stitching. Aconitum has heart pains with fear of death but sudden onset.
Safety Information
Aconitum, Calcarea carbonica.
Oxalic acid is highly toxic — causes severe corrosive burns, renal failure from calcium oxalate deposition, hypocalcemia, cardiac arrest. Found in rhubarb leaves. Lethal dose ~15-30g. Use only potentised forms.
