Keynote Symptoms
Neuralgic pains — pressing outward, as if the eyeball would burst. Right eye especially — ciliary neuralgia. Pains shoot from inside outward. Cystitis with terrible tenesmus — urine passes drop by drop. Herpes zoster with neuralgic pains. Pains drive to despair. Sudden, sharp, shooting.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Restless from pain. Impatient. Driven to despair by the severity of pain.
General Symptoms
Neuralgic pains pressing outward. Worse from motion, touch, right side. Better from rest, warmth.

Eyes
The keynote: pain in right eye as if eyeball would burst — pressing outward. Ciliary neuralgia. Sharp, shooting. Iritis. Glaucoma with bursting pain.
Head
Neuralgic headache — pressing outward. Right-sided.
Urinary
Cystitis with terrible tenesmus. Urine passes drop by drop. Burning. Feels as if bladder is not emptied. Spasm of urethra.
Skin
Herpes zoster with neuralgic pains. Burning, itching.
Extremities
Cramps in toes. Neuralgia of limbs.

Comparative Materia Medica
Spigelia has left eye neuralgia. Paris quadrifolia has left eye sensation of thread pulling. Cantharis has cystitis but with more scalding. Mezereum has herpes zoster but with burning after scratching.
Safety Information

Blackthorn contains amygdalin (cyanogenic glycoside) in seeds — releases cyanide when chewed. Thorns can cause septic wounds. Fruits (sloes) and flowers are safe. Use potentised forms.
