Acute nephritis — the chief indication. Albuminuria — massive protein loss in urine. Oliguria → anuria — urine becoming scanty then suppressed. Edema — generalized. Heart failure secondary to kidney failure. Uremia. Dark, scanty urine with casts. Used in acute renal emergencies.

Apis has renal edema but with thirstlessness and stinging. Arsenicum has renal disease with restlessness. Cantharis has acute kidney inflammation with burning. Terebinthina has hemorrhagic nephritis.
Safety Information
Not well established.
Eel serum is toxic — contains ichthyotoxin which is hemolytic and nephrotoxic. Destroyed by heat (hence eel is safe to eat cooked). Use only potentised forms.
