Overview

Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type. Other causes include B12 deficiency, chronic disease, blood loss. Nutrient-dense herbs and foods support healthy blood building.

Common Symptoms

Fatigue, weakness, pale skin, shortness of breath, dizziness, cold hands and feet, brittle nails, restless legs, pica (craving ice or non-food items).

When to Seek Medical Care

Diagnose type of anemia first (iron, B12, folate, etc.). Severe anemia, symptoms despite supplementation, or unclear cause needs evaluation.

General Self-Care Basics

Iron-rich foods (red meat, dark leafy greens, beans), vitamin C with iron for absorption, avoid coffee/tea with iron-rich meals, identify underlying cause.
