Overview

Most insect bites and stings cause local reactions that resolve with time. Severe allergic reactions require emergency care. Herbal support focuses on itch relief, inflammation, and healing.

Common Symptoms

Red bump, itching, swelling, pain, warmth at site. Concerning: widespread swelling, difficulty breathing, hives over body (anaphylaxis).

When to Seek Medical Care

EMERGENCY: difficulty breathing, throat swelling, widespread hives, dizziness. Signs of infection (worsening redness, pus, streaking), tick with bullseye rash (Lyme).

General Self-Care Basics

Clean bite, apply cool compress, don't scratch, baking soda paste, antihistamine for itching, elevation for swelling, watch for tick bites (remove carefully with tweezers).
