Overview

Jock itch (tinea cruris) is a fungal infection of the groin area, more common in men, athletes, and in warm climates. Topical antifungal herbs are effective treatment.

Common Symptoms

Red itchy rash in groin area, often ring-shaped with raised edges, burning sensation, flaking skin, worsens with sweat.

When to Seek Medical Care

Widespread infection, no improvement in 2 weeks, compromised immunity, or diabetes with groin infection.

General Self-Care Basics

Keep groin dry, change underwear daily, avoid tight clothing, shower after exercise, loose breathable underwear, antifungal powder, avoid sharing towels.
