Intense often one-sided headache, throbbing, sensitivity to light/sound/smells, nausea, vomiting, visual aura, prodromal symptoms.

New severe headache, "worst headache of life," neurological symptoms, fever with headache, sudden onset — rule out serious causes. Frequent migraines benefit from preventive treatment.

General Self-Care Basics

Identify and avoid triggers (food, sleep, stress, hormones), regular sleep, hydration, magnesium-rich diet, stress management, track patterns.
